Bella is an 8-year old yorkie who is very smart and very social. She is a delightful dog, who loves her humans and loves to cuddle and play. She effectively has three legs: her triceps don’t connect on her front right paw so she can use it to play but can’t put weight on it. (It appears she has always had this.) She gets around fine, although needs to be carried down if there are lots of stairs. She is housebroken and will use a wee pad if left without a walk every 4 to 5 hours. Bella loves to play with tug toys and will fetch. She loves to cuddle. One of her favorite games is to untie loose knots in her bandana – it keeps her happy and busy, and she will bring the bandana back to you when she’s done. It’s very cute!
Bella is good with older kids and dogs but prefers humans. She would do best in a house where someone will be with her most of the day – she really loves people. If you work from home or can take dogs to work, she will sit quietly at your feet and remind you when it’s dinner or walk time.
Bella has some easy to manage “special needs”: she has seasonal allergies that manifest in itchy, flaky skin patches unless she gets her allergy shot every 4-6 weeks. With it, she is fine. She takes Metacam for joint pain periodically, when she seems to have trouble walking. Otherwise, she is a loving, obedient and delightfully easy dog.
