Update 9/7/11: My name is Buddy but I speak like Chewbacca from Star Wars so sometimes the Rescue Squad call me Chewy for short.  My foster Mom says I am wonderful.  The Rescue Squad think I am deaf and I might have a cataract in one eye.  That is no big deal though because you can teach me sign language!  I also have skin tags (warts) which of course do not make me sound too appealing.  I am large for a Yorkie mix but the truth is, I am a GREAT dog!  My entire foster family loves me!  I am completely housebroken, love to go on walks (I jump into the harness!) and I get along great with my foster brother.  I am very well mannered, wait to be invited before hopping on to the bed and wait patiently for my meals and treats. I am not demanding in any way, well except when it comes to getting attention!  That is the Yorkie in me!  My foster Mommy says that she wishes their dog was more like me.  Imagine that!  I sleep with my foster Mom's son and I couldn't be more content.  I have a little bit of separation anxiety when my foster family leaves me but it's not terrible and they promise to work with me to change this.  I am fine with kids and groups of adults.  I am the type of dog that must be seen to be appreciated.  I will be attending a few Yorkie 911 events in September so stop by and see me!  My foster family would love to see me go to a good home because I am such a sweetie! Woof Woof!  I came into rescue after the lady I lived with dropped me off at a NYC shelter.  When the Rescue Squad team came to get me, I had long hair that was horribly matted and stunk terribly!  Thankfully one of the Rescue Squad volunteers is a groomer and she made me look and smell so much better!  My foster Mom says that I am underweight at 11lbs and should be about 15lbs.  Lucky for me, I get to eat lots of really yummy food so that I can get to the weight I need to be.  I heard my Foster Mom say that I am getting neutered next Tuesday and will also have some large wart-like skin tags removed.  I have one that gets rubbed by the harness area and the dogter said it is ulcerated so I am on antibiotic to avoid infection.  I am very sweet and leash trained but I do not know any simple commands, unless maybe I just don't know English and perhaps only know Spanish?  My adoption fee is $300 which includes my neuter and vaccinations.  Put in an adoption application at www.yorkie911rescue.com.
