UPDATE: 1/15/11: Lucy's foster family reports that she is really doing great! She walks outside and allows the family to pet her. Lucy loves to have her head scratched. She is starting to go to the bathroom outside. She is very smart and has quickly caught on that if she goes potty outside she gets a treat. She is also beginning to understand how to play. When tossed a ball, she runs after it and throws it around. Then she will allow whoever is playing with her to take it and throw it again. She plays alot with the foster Dad but that is really the only time she will let her guard down with men. It's a start! She gets along really well with the foster fur-kids. She is not a dominant dog and has no interest in being leader of the pack. She is very considerate around a 13 yr old dog. She is not food agressive and will wait her turn to get a treat. She loves to lay on the back of the couch and watch the street. She is really curious and has alot of energy. Lucy is is very, very smart. The foster family is amazed! Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her spay, a physical with the dogter and flea/tick preventative.
UPDATE: 12/1/10: My foster family has nicknamed me their little pistol! I am so curious about everything and am a real busy body! You would have no clue that I am 7 years old! Although everyday is another step towards rehabilitation, I still haven't let my foster Mommy hold me but I do lick their hands all the way to their elbows! I want them to know I really like them but I'm still not sure about humans because they treated me so bad at the puppymill place. I will take food, bones and toys right out of my foster Mommy's hand now. I will go to them when they call my name every time and lick their hand and slowly I am letting them stroke my chin. I love toys and bones to chew. I'm still learning what to do with toys but I am watching the other dogs play fetch and I try to copy them. I grab the toy and run to my pen and squirrel it away. My foster Mommy says I'm am soooo smart. Won't you consider taking a beauty like me into your home furever?
I am a puppymill survivor and am very curious about the big scary world. I will come in to sniff a human when they make slow motions but I tense up the second they try to touch or grab me. I'm not used to having a human interact with me so I will need some time to warm up. I went to the dogter and got a clean bill of health. More about Lucy LuGood with Dogs
