UPDATE 6/3/11: I have been in rescue for a few weeks now and sadly my puppymill survivor background has made me fearful of people, fast motions and although I am cute & small, I am far from warm and cuddly.  I need a furever family who will continue to work with me and allow me the time I need in order to come out of my shell.  I need to find my furever someone who will patiently work with me to give me the chance to be the great companion I can potentially be.  If you think you are my match, please put in your application at www.yorkie911rescue.com.  My adoption fee is $350.00.

My name is Zoey and my foster Mommy, although she doesn't know me very well just yet, says I am a sweet little pup.  I came from a puppymill bust only a few days ago so she is still getting to know me.  I get along well with all other dogs and am a polite sniffer but I still do not engage in play. I love treats and have a very healthy appetite.  I'm not afraid to bark if I hear a noise outside but other than that I am pretty quiet.  When I first saw a crate, I became nervous intitally but I quickly realized that a crate can be a safe place and not what it used to be for me.  I heard my foster Mom say she is going to work to socialize me and get me used to being with people- sitting on their laps, not being afraid of people and being held.  Although I am still scared of people, my foster Mommy is really nice and patient with me so I think I like the idea of learning to trust her and humans a little bit more.  I already took a treat out of her hand & everyone got excited.  I love my new soft bed- it sure beats those crate floors!    If you can give me some time to come out of my shell, I promise to be a great companion (please just don't rush it).  My adoption fee is $350.00.
