Update 10/4/11: My name is Riley and I AM a Puppymill Survivor.  I, Mr. Riley have certainly come along way!  I like to think that my journey truly began when I was released from my prison (a crammed, small cage at the puppymill).  The idea of being “free” (so to speak) is very exciting for most….but for Me, Mr. Riley, I first needed to overcome my shyness and being plain old frightened of all the “new” in my life.  In the beginning you’d find me spending all my time in my little doggie bed in my foster home.  (Yes…this did go on for months…)  I know my foster family was trying really hard to not only give me my space, but also working with me to realize that I am not alone in this “new life”, that there are now loving people in my life, who will take care of me and that I CAN start to enjoy it.  *Drum Roll Please*  I am happy to report, that Me, Mr. Riley now enjoys playing with other doggies, snuggling with my foster family, and I, Mr. Riley will be the first to admit, that I AM READY TO BE ADOPTED!

Update 9/30/11:  I have come such a long way!  Once I was shy and frightened and spent all day in my bed -- but you should see me now!  I play with the other dogs, snuggle with my foster family and am totally ready to be adopted.  All I want is a fur-ever home of my own - I promise to be a loyal, affectionate companion.  Please consider adopting me!

Update 6/26/11: My hair is finally starting to come in.... boy did that seem to take forever.  I love going for walks- how about you?  I REALLY enjoy walking so I'm looking for someone who is patient and well, LOVES to go for walks!  My foster Dad says I am the BEST walking partner!  Woof Woof! 

Update: 4/8/11:  I eat a lot!  I have a good appetite now that I have yummy dog food to eat!  I have gained weight and I have adjusted to wearing a harness.  My chihuahua foster fursiblings sit around watching me as my foster Dad hand feeds me, wanting some also.  They act like they haven't eaten in days and they are a little overweight.  Whoops!   I watch my foster Dad all the time, and I will walk up to him then walk past him, but I run away if he touches me.  I'm just not sure I trust people yet.  My foster Daddy bought me chicken baby food and when he feeds me on his lap, I slowly start to relax.  I am getting used to the routine where I go out and come back in after going to the bathroom on my own with supervision.  I do best with going out about every 4 hours. Sometimes tho, I will hold it then sometimes I won't but instead I use the wee wee pad.  Won't you consider a handsome Silky like me? 

My name is Riley and I am a puppymill survivor.  Although I am a little bit shy, my foster Dad was able to hand feed me which means I am not as frightened as I may appear!   Little by little, I will blossom into a trusting boy.  I heard my foster Dad say that I am not as shy as he thought because I willingly come up to him.  My adoption fee is $350 and this includes my neuter and vaccinations.
