Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie : : Female : : Young : : Small Learn more about the Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie.
My name is Chloe and this is my brother Rocky. Rocky has been my big brother for my entire life so we must be adopted together. We are very much a bonded pair. We like to play and sleep together and we would simply be lost without each other. We come from a very loving family home where we are adored and spoiled like a prince and princess. But true to the Yorkie breed, we are not good around little children and babies. I am extremely nervous and frightened by the little tikes. So I usually run and hide as far away as possible from them. Rocky on the other hand, being the big brother, feels he must protect us (even though I know he is really scared too). He can and will be a little nippy if those kiddos get too close. He doesn’t mean any harm, but he doesn’t know how else to protect us. All the running around with those little kid feet makes me very anxious and Rocky is always on guard. So, Rocky and I really need a home with an older family so we can relax and enjoy our naps in laps, soak in the sun while enjoying couch time and give lots and lots of kisses to our “big” people. We are potty trained outside, but we don’t like the cold so much, so we use pee pads inside when it’s too cold to go out. We also like to play outside in the backyard. A fence is a must because Rocky is really tiny and he likes to run (and escape) if given the opportunity! I am not as adventurous, so I don’t try any of his Houdini stunts. Rocky has Hepatoportal Microvascular Dysplasia (MVD), which is very common in the Yorkshire Terrier breed. He is asymptomatic and doing very well. However, he must eat special prescription food available from the Vet (Hills l/d). For convenience and because they both are free feed during the day, Chloe is also eating this food. No other food or treats or products that can be eating can be given to Rocky if they contain any type of Meat or Organ Meat protein. The home that adopts Rocky and Chole must have Yorkie experience, especially with dogs under 5 pounds or those with liver issues. No Small Children.
