Update 9/7/11: My foster Mom says I am such a sweet dog. I love belly rubs, giving kisses & snuggling up to you. My tail is constantly wagging! I love to eat & will do almost anything for treats.  I am a very smart dog and I pick up on things rather quickly. I know a whole bunch of commands such as "sit, "come" and "down" as well as my name, am crate trained and almost completely housebroken.  I also walk really well on a leash. My foster Mommy says that she has never seen a dog that likes going for walks as much as me!  I am extremly playful, but I also enjoy curling up in your lap and taking naps. Like most Yorkies, I tend to cling to people once I get comfortable around them.  I follow my foster Mommy everywhere! When I want to come in from the yard I will scratch on the door or sometimes nudge my way through and open the screen door myself.  I do not have any aggression issues with toys and seem to be coming around with my food possession. I did snap twice since I have been in my foster home and both times were when I was being picked up unexpectedly from behind.  I was sorry for this behavior and thankfully it is not tolerated in my foster home so I am working on this.  I enjoy being pet and will sometimes beg my foster Mommy to pick him up. I totally crave attention and when I am not getting it, I will whine until you focus on me!  Woof Woof!  If my foster Mom pets the other dogs, I will wiggle my way through, roll on my belly and start nudging her hand out of the way & lick her or nibble on her until she stops petting the other dog and pet me!  I get very jealous because I like to be the center of attention at all times.  As soon as you earn my trust though, I do not show any signs of aggression whatsoever.  I am protective and will bark when people come to the door but the rest of the time I do not make a peep. I play nice with other dogs and I would do best in an adult home where people will be aware of my trust issues and be willing to spend some time working with me.  I am a remarkable dog and in the right home I will make an excellent pet for a loving family!  My foster Mommys says she has grown very attached to me and if someone is willing to look past my issues and give me a chance, they will see how amazing I am!  My adoption fee is $350 and you can fill out an adoption application at: www.yorkie911rescue.com.

Update 8/9/11: I am such a good boy but need a home with older family members who can understand me.  I get attached to my humans rather quickly but do not display separation anxiety.  I am still learning to deal with my unstable past so I need a family that is willing to remind me how to trust again.  When I am scared or cornered, my reaction has been to snap or wrap my teeth around flesh.  I don't mind getting a bath, brushed or being blow dried. I also enjoy my personal space but with the right family willing to continue working with me, I will follow my Alpha dog human!
