Update 2/29/12: Before going in for surgery the Dogtor did some more tests, including an ultrasound. Looks like I have a brain disorder causing me to have seizures and not liver shunt, although I most likely have MVD in addition. So for now, it looks like I will be taking some new medication and will have a special diet. My temporary foster mom in PA was very distraught after seeing me have 2 very bad seizures - she holds me close and comforts me. It will take a very special person to adopt me but I know you are out there. Update 2/28/12: Today I saw the special Dogtor - had to go all the way to PA. Looks like I am a candidate for surgery. I am scared but know that everyone in the rescue squad is praying for me. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and then I will spend a few days in the hospital before going back to my foster home. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well. Update 2/21/12: The Rescue Squad will be treating me for a possible liver-shunt. This means a low protein diet, along with daily medication. They will be monitoring me for the next 2 weeks before making any further decisions as to my treatment. In the meantime, they have set up this ChipIn fund to help get me started because if I need liver shunt surgery, it is going to cost the Rescue Squad quite a few thousand dollars to help me! Update 2/20/12 Anabelle is only available for sponsorship at this time. She suffered a seizure yesterday and is having tests done to see what the cause might be. I am a tiny little thing. I weigh about 5 pounds. I am a rather quiet girl- I do not bark. I like to prance around the house and explore every corner. I love to snuggle with my fur siblings and in the arms of my foster mommy. I'm still a bit shy when I'm first picked up but I love to give my mommy doggie kisses. I'm so well behaved in cars, I just take a nap on my foster mommys lap. My adoption fee is $400 and you can fill out an application online at www.yorkie911rescue.com.
