Update 11/5/14:  Care Bear has been returned to rescue.  She is one of the most playful, sweet, affectionate pups.  She is on a daily medication to stop her "leaking" but it is too soon to tell if it is working or if will need to be changed.  More info to come...

Update 10/12/12: It has been a long road from where I was to where I am now. Thank you to the wonderful dogters who made me all better and I couldn't be happier! I enjoy going for long walks and running around the yard. I like to dance on my hind legs and enjoy belly rubs. I even give nice hugs! I am a sweet girl.  My foster mom loves me very much but she needs to be able to help more of my furfriends out there. Did I mention I was house trained?!  Oh and have you ever heard of the Care Bears?  Well, I heard their song and was told I was named after them.  "Just do the Care Bear Countdown, when you need them they'll be there.  Don't be afraid, when trouble's brewin in your heart.  If you can dream just send a wish in the dark and do the Care Bear's Countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1"  So I'm singing their song in hopes that I will have my own furever home soon!  A home with a family where I can make all of their wishes and dreams come true!  I'm ready for my family and patiently waiting... I will make the best companion! I want to love you more than you could imagine.  Please submit your app at www.yorkie911rescue.com.

Update 9/26/12:  My surgery went really well and I am doing great after surgery.  I am eating well and am recovering nicely.  It also seems that my "leaking" is over!  I have to visit the dogter for a follow-up visit next week and then bloodwork next month but so far so good!  I even had my teeth cleaned and should be ready for adoption very soon!  In the meantime, I will continue to recover in the country on a large pillow bed and enjoy walks in my foster family's big back yard!

Update 9/20/12:  Going in for surgery on Monday - please send all your good thoughts/prayers my way.

Update 8/31/12:  Keep your fingers crossed that there is a nice Dogtor here in LI that can help me with my "leaking" issue.  I have an appointment next week to see if a very special surgery can fix me so I can go to a home of my own.  I love my foster home but would prefer to be in a home with only 1 other pup so I can get more attention.  So if all goes well at the dogtor, it should only be a short time before I can be adopted!  Stay posted for more updates!

Update  7/28/12: I am a sweet girl who loves to go on car rides!  I know my commands "sit" and "stay".  I love to dance around on my hind legs and impress my humans.  I love to be pet and I give hugs... yes, you read that correctly; I give hugs!  I guess you can say that I am a people pleaser.  Oh and guess what?  I am totally house-broken!  Not to mention, I'm adorable, snaggle tooth & all!  Please put in your application for me @ www.yorkie911rescue.com.

Update 7/2/12: I am doing great!  Especially after my wonderful spa day.  I got a bath the other day and boy did I just LOVE being pampered!  Must be the Poodle in me!  Woof!  I am doing fairly well with my housebreaking.  My foster Mom is sure with just a little more time that I will catch on quick.  I know a few commands too!  I do "sit", "stay" and I can even "dance"!  Yep, I am able to walk across the entire room on my hind legs!  My favorite part of the "work" is getting rewarded with yummy treats.  A girl like me doesn't come around too often, so what are you waiting for?  Visit www.yorkie911rescue.com.

They call me Care Bear probably because I actually give bear hugs!  I came from a hoarding situation in Texas - wasn't a terrible place but I am so happy to be in a home with a lot less other dogs.  My foster Mom says I am a little needy - but I am just so happy to be getting some attention.  I know a few commands - "sit" is my favorite because it means I usually get a treat.  Please consider adopting me!  I will be a faithful, loving companion for many years to come.  My adoption fee is only $300.
