Update 6/2/13: I have been in foster care for a few weeks now recuperating and I am feeling better.  I have a strong, beautiful spirit and I do not allow for my handicap to hamper me in any way.  I found out when I came into rescue that I have a broken pelvis that is healing and my right leg is weak because of it.  I try to run with the other dogs during the short period of time that I am allowed to roam around the backyard to use the bathroom and I keep up with them.  I am house trained and get along well with other dogs.  I also love people!  My hair is growing in nicely as you can see from my new photos too!  My foster Mom says it best when she says that I am an "Angel with a beautiful spirit".  Despite everything that I have been through in my life, I am such a sweet and loving girl just looking for a warm lap to cuddle in and loads of love in return.  Won't you consider adopting a cutie like me?  Visit www.yorkie911rescue.com to fill out an adoption application.

Update 5/6/13:  Well it turns out that I do have a serious injury - my pelvis is broken and I will need months of crate rest to recuperate.  The Dogtor says that when they did the initial xray (I was under sedation) they positioned me in a way that it didn't show.  So when I still wasn't putting any pressure on my back leg they decided to do another xray with me awake and it was very evident that it is broken.  Please stay tuned for more updates on my progress.  With a lot of rest, they are hoping that I will heal and not need major surgery.

Hi there!  My name is April and I am sweet mixed breed pup.  The Rescue Squad think I am part Poodle and Maltese or possibly mixed with another fluffy-haired breed!  My coat was so heavily matted that they had to shave me down which has eased so much of my pain.  I am a sweet girl with ears that can make you go "Oooo"!  Just wait until my beautiful coat grows in and my ears are once again covered with hair!  I will be such a beauty!  Did you also know that the Rescue Squad told me that I also have the sweetest 'take me home' eyes?  Don't you agree?  I do need to let you know that there seems to be a problem with one of my back legs.  I won't apply pressure to it and it sort of just dangles there but after visiting the dogter and getting x-rays, we're thinking it may be neurological.  Nothing is broken!  If you're looking for a lap dog that will love you furever, then please visit www.yorkie911rescue.com to fill out an adoption application for me!  My adoption fee is $375.
